Day #12 of the 30-Day Colour Challenge!

WordPress tells me that this post is our 100th on the blog! Woohoo! I couldn’t not celebrate! That explains today’s challenge. I’ve got my glass ready. Have you?

This pair definitely makes it into my top 3 of the 30-Day Colour Challenge pieces so far.

Day #12 done! Happy 100th post to us!

Day #3 of the 30-Day Colour Challenge!

I started working on this challenge quite late in the day. So I sort of took the easy way out, making a quick pair of earrings.

Honestly? I don’t like mushrooms at all. But this palette was just so lovely that I couldn’t resist. Love the salmon-y tones and the way they go so well with the browns.

These ethnic fan chandeliers are so pretty! I used a pair of really big earring hooks just to add a little bit of oomph to the pair. I love how these earrings turned out!

Sipping Brights ~ 16/03/2015 – 20/03/2015

Summer has arrived in all it’s blazing glory. I can’t decide whether I like it or not. I love the sound of the fan, the smell of mangoes, and the feel of a nice cold bath. But then once I step out of the house, I just want to run back inside and flop onto my bed in my shortest pair of shorts and spend the rest of the day wishing it were winter again.

This week’s colour palette is an apt reflection of summer. It’s bright and colourful, and I wouldn’t mind a yummy ice cold drink right about now! I think this is the most colourful palette I’ve picked for myself so far. I just couldn’t resist the deliciousness that oozes out of this palette. It was quite a challenge finding beads that match the colours in the palette, but I finally decided to go all out, settling on neon green cord in place of the second green in the palette, and red to match the cherries instead of pink to match the umbrella.

I could eat that photo. But I was sort of worried that my earrings would wind up looking like slices of fruit. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. But I went ahead with it, and here’s what I ended up making!

For some reason, I really struggled to get the colours to show accurately in the photo. The earrings are actually much…warmer. I’ve to go figure out my camera settings now! Happy summery weekend to you!
