Day #20 of the 30-Day Colour Challenge!
One of the loveliest Saturdays I’ve had in a while.
A Christmas-themed palette was inevitable. So here it is.

Since I didn’t have too much time in the morning, I put together a quick pair of earrings.
Day #20 done!
Happy Holi! I’ve been looking forward to this day all week, simply because I get to chuck coloured water at my kids at school! Simple pleasures 😉

This pretty much sums up what most of the population in India will be up to today and possibly over the weekend. I just hope that everyone plays sensibly and has a good time. And that no animals will be forced to join in the festivities.
Now this is a combination I wouldn’t usually work with, but since I don’t think people really care about what colours get thrown on them, I’m going to go ahead in the spirit of Holi and make a pair of bizarre looking earrings! I wanted to flip the colours around this time, and feature the dark green prominently in my earrings, while using only hints of the other colours.
Happy boho Holi hoops!
This week’s palette is extra special. For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to do something for this friend of mine who has constantly supported Fire & Rain like it’s her own. So I decided to ask her to pick a palette, and I made her a pair of earrings!

This is such an apt picture. With Diwali around the corner, I know that Christmas isn’t too far behind! And I looove Christmas. I usually start getting excited about it around now! 😀 Another reason I like this palette is because I haven’t really used too much grey or purple in my jewellery, and this gave me the opportunity to use some really pretty seed beads.
So, getting back to this friend of mine. She recently cut her hair really really short, and it really suits her. My dad even likened the style to Julie Andrews. I was most excited because short hair = big earrings! Since she mentioned that she wanted feather earrings and angel wing earrings, I decided to try making the latter in the style I know best – micro macrame.
I love them!!! I hope she does, too! I can’t wait to make more! 😀
